This mornings weight 261.1 from january 4th that's 12 lbs this month right on track even with my screw ups!


But I'm off to bed get up at 2 am to take my snow shift !

Time crunch

Good evening !!!
I would love to turn back the clocks and start this all over again !! I sure wouldn't change my friends, family or my job but I would change some things like smoking and drinking !! And not being healthy !!! I wish I would have found this sport when I was twenty ! Then some of the hard stuff would be over !!! And what I mean by that is its hard enough to train your body to be an endurance athlete but try cutting calories and trying to loose fat while doing it! I think I might be winning against the fat at this point but cannot give up the battle ! I need to treat every day with caution ! It's very easy to fall off the food wagon for me ! I remember the days I would eat a large pizza and wash that down with 12 or 13 grilled cheese sandwiches followed by 20 beers and today I ate only 2100 calories of good healthy food esh it's sure hard!!!! Anyone who is in the same boat as me I want you to not give up either !! I know how hard it is ! And if I can be of any help let me know !!
Now back to the time crunch !!!! I did another time audit on myself again and thought I'd share it! I'm at work 52.5 hours a week I travel 3 hours a day to and from work that equals 15 hours add that to my work hours and it's 64.5 hours then put 8 hours of sleep per day (ya right)and that equals 120.5 put on 11 hours of training (which will only get longer) that makes 131.5 hours ........hygiene and eating takes another 10 hours a week which equals 141.5 hours ............so I have 26 hours left in the week which will disappear as the training season progresses but for now the 26 hours is gobbled up by my three kids and work around the house !!! I have a plan made for the whole month and find it hard to fit anything in!!
I sure had a awesome training weekend this weekend I felt real strong on the bike and in the gym as well also during my hockey game I'm getting so strong on the ice I sometimes have to cut it back a notch so I don't roll over anyone!!
Just a quick note on my feet !! They are feeling great I cant wait to get out and start running!
Also my blood pressure continues to go down to the point that my doctor is thinking about taking me off my blood pressure pills it's been at 120/80 for three months and lately it's traveling south of that number around 120/67 with a pulse of 60 bpm and my resting is around 52-60 things are really looking up!!!!

Two hard days

Good evening !

So I finally got to a monster spin class !! Two fun crazy hours with lots of my triathlon friends and fun it was !!! I had a great ride I had a 32 km average over the two hour ride !
I tried a different breakfast today to see if that helped and no it didn't change the outcome much ! I think alot of it was that my day off was yesterday and I was lean on the calories which left the tank empty ! But I will change next week and monitor the outcome.
I have learned a few lessons over the last year about training for triathlons ,,,it sure takes alot of planning and alot of support from family , friends , and just about everyone ! So when things get a little sideways you need to really press forward and lean on those very friends and family members that support you ! so don't be afraid to talk to those people !!
Team Drinkle is very strong and supportive I somtimes believe supporting may even be harder than training itself...... I am very lucky my family knows how important my goal is and they are training just as hard as me ! they keep the house running ! My oldest daughter watches the younger ones while I train, my wife works two jobs and prepares me and everything I need to train worry free ! I'm very lucky and extreamly greatful of the amazing job they are doing !
In return I will give them a strong race and hopefully one day they will say their dad is a IRONMAN !

This was last weekend 263 lbs today i was 261 lbs but that might be a little dehydration again my water intake was low yesterday and yes i know i looked like a truck ran me over but i was up for two days doing snow ! i will get a better picture this weekend if the snow stays away.

Calories in and calories out

Good evening

That is the magic pill!! Calories in and calories out there is no secret pill no special diet nothing ! Calories in and out ! Some people have a fast metabolism yes but it's still the same they just can eat more ! There is alot of planning and testing as well ! If you don't have a phone with any calorie apps on it and you have to write it down every day your looking at around an hour a day!!! I use the "lose it" app it's great it does every thing for you.... I started around 2700 calories a day switched to 2500 calories a day and now I'm down to 2100 calories a day we will see if that works !
One problem with this system is the length of time it takes ! I have already used up three weeks trying to find that magic number ! I am very close now !! Once I find it I will cut enough to make up for the last couple weeks.
I didn't go over my 2100 calories today but I can look back at my choices from today and change a couple things, I should go to one coffee in the morning and I had french dressing with my salad and I also had oil that I used to cook my peppers and onions for my wrap so I had a total of about 1000 junk calories that I should have traded for somthing good !
That's next weeks goal ! Perfect eating !!!! For a food addict that is very hard..
Friday is hard due to the lack of training, I have to really watch my calories without that 1000 calorie burn ....

Looking great!

Some people say " triathlon takes up to much of your life" I say " it gives you your life back" if you don't believe me just ask me!
So much positive things are happening its just like winning the lottery ! Had a great spin on the bike today (alone) just hope for no snow so I can spin with my tri buddies on Saturday morning !
Had a new way to deal with the negative people at work today ! It was kind of funny !!!! I just put my headphones in and couldn't hear a thing ! It was great....
I found somthing out about yoga ........ It's not only about stretching its about stress relief ... I was very impressed the way I felt after the class last night I was completely stress free ! I think I'd like to take a extra class this week it was amazing !

BMI

Had another great day!!!!
Did my first run since my last triathlon last year when I injured my ankle ! Did 7 km in one hour and everything felt great!!! No pain during the run just a dull ache after but I expected something on the first try?............. but back to the cardio until coach Paul turns me loose on the runs again !!! I really needed to test out the orthotics to see if they need to be adjusted I go back for a follow up appointment in a week and want to make sure I get them adjusted right !! I really am excited to get running !!!
Had my BMI today I lost 4 % fat and and 13 lbs since the last time I was there so that's awesome !!! Things are working but Im still going to keep my calories at 2100 until I cut down to my goal weight !!

Are goals important?

Good evening !

That's what I ask myself every time I get up at 430 am of training !! And yes they are ! I ask that same question when my friends phone up and want me to go out to the bar for beer and wings!!! I have had to say no to a lot of things this passed year and sometimes it makes me a little sad but I know for sure I enjoy this a lot more than being hung over on a Saturday morning....I have noticed myself getting stronger and stronger each week and it's very exciting I really look forward to weight day it's my favorite!
Looks like I'm getting a second chance to go out with my tri buddies after missing the bowling this last weekend due to snow... We are going to play pool !!!! Which will be another battle for me for sure !!! I used to play pool all the time but never sober ..... So that for sure will be different because I am not drinking anything till after muskoka 70.3 then i will have a couple cold ones ! And a cheese sausage smothered with fried onions and a big bag of old Dutch chips with a large tub of hell of a dip!!!!!!
Wow sorry I got side tracked with that talk of food! As I was saying I have never played pool sober so I'm sure my shots won't be as straight as they used to be!!
I have my BMI tommorow hope it goes good !!!

Balance

Good evening !
So the snow showed up and wrecked another function for me and my family again ! Missed a night out bowling with the triathletes !!! Looked like they a great time from the facebook photos!
Once again the snow messed my training plan and my food plan as well ! I lost my marbles and had a couple bad things to eat....it's amazing how much fat and calories are in processed food!
I have been really watching what I've been putting in and wow I didn't believe what I saw! I looked at a hungry man TV dinner today in the grocery store and it had 72% of your daily sodium intake and 67 % of your daily intake of fat with a whopping 1794 calories...... I think they should put warning labels on food like they do on cigarette packs! because that stuff can kill you .....I dropped my calories from 2649 down to 2150 last week so I will see how it is tommorow morning. I have been hitting the weights real hard so my slow weight loss my be from making muscle!!! I will know Tuesday when I go get my BMI done if my muscle mass is greater than 188 lbs I will know and I hope my fat % goes down too! I think it will because I can see change happening and I'm real pleased with this change!!
I received my new orthotics on Friday and had my first training session in them today ... They felt real good I'm hoping to start running in February once I find the right shoes to put these nice orthotics in..I'm hoping that with my orthotics , regular stretching and monthly massage therapy my ankle pain will be minimal....my new shoe hunt begins tommorow ....

Strong finish at today's race

So lucky for me my experience got me threw another snow storm !
With minimal bad side effects! (so far) but all the fires have been put out ! I will use this experience on race day !!!! Dont panic stay focused plan things out and things work out fine
Not to mention a little luck here and there !!!

Watch what you eat

Good morning !
What a great week! I think I have finally got over my sugar craving !!! I feel Great .... Had a great swim last night everything is going as planned. I have really noticed this month while I've been recording everything I've put in my body is that if you really watched you would be amazed... The sodium that's in food isn't right ! I have not added any salt to anything and not ate any processed food and my sodium is around 4700 mg per day which doesn't bother me too much since so much is lost when I train but the average person that eats processed and take out must be in the danger zone for sodium.
Im out working right now just taking a second to post my blog today since I missed last nights I will do two today ! I just got some gas for 1.24 a liter then I bought 2 jugs of washer fluid for 4.99 a piece and the guy gave me a card for 5 cents off a liter for 20 liters and handed it to me with a smile like he just gave me a 100 dollar bill!
Surprisingly enough I kept my comment to myself (I know that's unusual for Jeff Drinkle) but man let's lower the price of things all the time and make this country a place worth living .. Everything cost so much these days I think we need a break !

Hydration

Good evening!
Lots of stuff to figure out this season ! Nutrition , hydration , pace , cadence , it is hard to decide what to deal with first!
Today my goal was to monitor water loss on my hour and a half bike/trainer ride ... I lost .5 lbs of water during the ride and took in 16 oz's so I'm thinking that tells me I didn't drink enough ! But I'm close ,,, my eating has gone well and need to finish the week off before I cut any calories ... I'm thinking that I will have up make further cuts to drop the weight ! I really want to be cutting now in the off season because during race and heavy training time there will be no cutting ! I have my monthly BMI test done on the 24th and I know it will be down !
I'm real surprised about my thoughts of racing season they are shifting a bit from ... I hope I don't come in last to.... Look out ! On your left when I get that competitive fire in me look out its serious time !
Off to the gym in 6 hours !!!! Off to sleep good night !

First yoga class

Good evening !
Just a short one because I'm beat ! I think I'm really going to like yoga!!!! Besides being the only one there that was a giant I did ok !
Only had trouble with one pose and I can't remember the name !
I feel etreamly stretched after it and really had fun!
My eating plan went well today and I'm glad I'm back on track ! I'll check my weight and post it in the morning .... I have decide to take one coffee off my day because I usually have two and that uses up about 350 calories with the fat free French vanilla cream
I would much rather use those 350 calories up on some filling food instead !

Why?

I spend some of my free time surfing the Internet for people's amazing stories about how they changed their lives an let me tell you there sure is a lot of them out there! All of them just as amazing as the next,,,, now that I've seen that I'm not rewriting anything new why do I keep posting? well for starters it keeps me motivated when I do this ! Also it helps me keep track of certain things , issues or problems I can look back on it also let's me look back on the good things to !!
I have lots of people to thank for my continuing success ,,,also The Durham Region Triathlon Club, ,and Kim for suggesting I join the club (I wouldn't be here today if she didn't suggest it )! My coach ! Who has a constant job at holding me back which is sometimes harder than making a person try harder ,,,of course my family I couldn't EVER do it without them from dealing with my tired grumpy moods to helping prepare my meals so I could sleep a little longer ! and cheering me on even when I'm not racing ( some times on my trainer when I've had enough they cheer me on to finish) my super amazing wife who's only reason she works two jobs is to buy me a new tri bike (wink wink) she said she is only doing all this if she gets a trip to Hawaii so I guess I will have to get real fast!!and my mom and dad who come to my races ,,, And all the other experienced athletes I train with they all help me in different ways and when I'm training I always remember different things they said !!trianing with these athletes is a special honor that I appreciate very much and thank each and everyone of them !!!
I also have another special person who helps me in my training ,,,she always has great ideas and amazing advice even though she probably wouldn't lend me a tool to fix my bike on the side of the road and she would probably laugh at me if I fell off my bike on the trainer ((((on your left , in a corner, against the wind)))) thx to everyone ! For my amazing new life !

Busy morning at the pool !

Good evening !

Triathletes are a serious bunch of people ! Especially when they are training ! I see the same people every day at the gym just a serious nodd or a smile and a good morning!! Today was real busy !! When I got in the pool there was three club members swiming then when Peter came there was four !! Nice to see your training partners out putting in lots of effort ! All together there was about 7 athletes in the pool at 5 am which is crazy busy for that time of day!
I had an extremely difficult swim today I think due to my weight training yesterday I just felt like I was swimming threw oatmeal ! Those of you familiar with coach Paul's bike classes will know what that means !!!!!
I weighed this morning and I was 266.6 which is still on target for the 15th of June to be down to 220 lbs that will be the weekend of my first race of the year ! I'm really looking forward to getting back outside to train! I was able to spend a lot of time with the kids because they would ride while I ran ! (LIKE A ANTELOPE) I always had to keep one of my headphones out to answer all of their questions ! Better get to sleep ! 430 comes early

Motivation

Good evening !!!
Motivation is what you need to have success in this sport!!! And I will tell you that sometimes it hard to find !I have various things I do to help me along the way !!! I love to read about other peoples amazing stories on the Internet or in books ! I also like to think about how exciting it's going to be to race to the point when I want to give up but keep going! I also like to watch this years Ironman canada and cant wait to see myself on that course !!!The three races I did last summer were two tri a tri's and a sprint !!! I was extremely ready for the tri a tri's and also ready for the sprint but the one mistake I made on the sprint was my bike speed i went too hard and had nothing left for the run and I also didn't have much of a clue about nutrition during a race! I have been really working on my planning of nutrition trying different things learning about what my body will do and react to.
Had a disappointing end to my week with that snow storm and the one day I missed sleeping I was unable to make my plan or prepare food and ended up hungry rooting around the kitchen for food and ending up with something that wasn't the best for me !I will weigh tommorow morning to see what the damage is and get back on track!!
Had a great work out today weights and cardio felt amazing ! Everyday I go to the gym feels even better than the time before !!! This coming week will be the first full week of my new schedule can't wait to give it a try ! 5 am in the pool tommorow morning with my friend Peter !
We are doing most the same races this summer so I will train with him often ! It's nice to have company on those long runs and rides !

Snow plowing the other endurance race

Good morning !!!
Well spin clas is in 4 hours I'm just getting home from a 22 hour day !!!!!
Most of the guys are still working but my assistant is running the show so I can gt home and sleep before class! Plowing snow is almost as demanding as a triathlon!!! I've seen me awake for three days at a time with no sleep ( not good ) but it's my job !! I'm the supervisor of about twenty drivers with 9 trucks clearing the streets of a local municipality and let me tell you there is never a dull moment!!i think I have delt with almost every problem there is !! (ALMOST)I have a great bunch of guys working for me !! All of which put the same effort in as I do ,,,, I think because they see the pride and effort I put in they do the same !! I would never ask one of my men to do something I wouldn't do! I think I bring my hard work ,dedication, and willpower from work to the sport of triathlon every time I train! I give 100% every time I put on my swimsuit , bike shoes, or runners!!!
I went to Durham swimwear today to try on a tri suit fit kit for my triathlon club but no luck!!! I think I would have to get a 5 or 6 xxxxxxl tri suit !!!! they are not made for people my size which makes me work even harder to get into that size .......but I think even if I try my hardest I will never see the inside of a Louis garneau tri suit! Let's face it there isn't to many 260 lb triathletes ! Which brings me to another thought !!! Why is there not many big triathletes ?? For one thing it's twice as hard on our bodies ...the impact on our feet, knees, and hip joints is tremendous, the amount of food we eat is incredible....I've been eating 3000 calories per day for a week know and went from 278 lbs to 263,,,,we need lots of fuel !! I've been drinking around 80 ozs of water per day and still struggle to stay hydrated and all that's before we start to even think about training !!
Ok I'm out of gas !! Time for bed

Run like a ANTELOPE

Good evening
I have a bit of a cheat week this week because with the introduction of yoga and the switching of my schedule it worked out to have two off days !!! But I will just enjoy them...
Great swim class tonight full house ! No way to avoid bumping or hitting anyone ! I feel real good in the water now ! I think it's my favorite of the three sports ....last day I used the phrase " I run like a 1971 Buick crossed with a turtle" although my daughters had a good laugh at that I think I'm going to change that and say I run like an antelope coach Paul said to me that's a great way to get faster and be more confident is to convince myself I run like an antelope !!!!! I've listened to him call out in bike class " ride like a champion" and swim class he says "swim like a shark!"
Had my monthly meeting with coach Paul in the gym and pool today ....he is very strict on proper form which I make sure I do all the time !!! Even when a smaller guy is beside me lifting more weight with bad form and giggling to his self or smirking that he is lifting more I just carry on with the head phones in and get to work!!!!the gym is sure full of interesting people ! Some you might want to talk to and some you don't ! After finishing up in the gym down to the pool to work on stroke !! Like always he handed out homework for me to work on for the next while and then he will check at our next meeting !!

Stretch Stretch

Good afternoon !!
I learned a very valuable lesson about stretching !!! Do it well and do it often! my legs were so tight yesterday i thought i was a gonner !!!! lucky for me my friend Peter is a RMT that was avalible to fix those extreamly tight legs!!!! He did an amazing job no pain for most of the day but are starting to tighten up abit since ive been at my desk most of the day !
`Coach Paul has me starting yoga this week and I have scheduled time in all my routiens for daily proper stretching !!! just another thing on the full plate of triathlon!!!!!
Due to the introduction of yoga into my schedule coach Paul has had to move my off day from monday to friday!!! That could prove to be difficult since in the past Friday was beer and chicken wing night!!! but once again i need to put a value on it!!!!! and its valuable to sucseed!!!
My weight loss is going real good down to 264 lbs this morning  so 44 more lbs to go before my target weight!of 220 lbs and this mornings resting heart rate was 55 which is good !!tonight I cycle for 1.5 hours and  im going to test my recovery heart rate and see how that is!!!!

The week before this Tara , Peter and I went out to Cobourg and did the course before the big day !! the water was a beautiful 22 but the day of the race it dropped down to 14 it was very cold !!!! they actually shortened the race top 300 m I did well in the swim that day after i finally started to swim !!! the water was so cold it took my breath away and i couldnt get going !!when i got out of the water i was so cold i couldnt even remember the first couple miniutes of the bike but finnaly got it going !! and the run was a typical Jeff run,,,,, a cross between a 1971 Buick and a turtle but I finally made it home!!

Great weather !

Good evening !
I think we are having a nice winter if you like to run outside! I haven't had the pleasure but im sure it's awesome ! I will find out next month if I get the clearance !
I have to admit I sure complaine alot about my foot alot over the last few days !!!! I've been reading alot about everything there is to know about feet and everything you read on the Internet needs to be taken with a grain of salt But I have come across alot of similarities with foot pain and hydration and stretching !
Over the last two days I have been doing both like crazy and have to say the pain has gone away slightly !
I start yoga tommorow so I think that will help lots !cant wait

Yet another busy weekend

Good evening !
Finished my first week of the new diet plan !!! I did well keeping it around my goal of 2650 calories per day we will see tommorow morning when I jump on the scale!!! I might have had a bit of a snag last week when I started because I think I was down water so my weight has been jumping around HUGE!!!! but this weekend I've been really keeping up with my hydration so We will see!!
With a very rough estimate I have burned 8573 calories from exercise this week and my food calories were 13963 from Tuesday morning ,, of course these numbers are all estimates but it's good to start somewhere!!! I will adjust next week if needed !
Keeping track of every thing I eat and do is very time consuming but after about a month I will have a solid meal plan and a good idea of what my body is burning.....one thing I have to watch is the little snacks that are sitting around !! They all add up and I know that impulse will never go away !

Great week

Good Saturday evening!
Week number one of hard training and smart eating is almost wrapped up! 30 mins of cardio 1.5 hours of weight training followed by 1.5 hours of hockey left for the week then my day off ...can't wait .!!! I'm following my plans I set for myself on January 1st very close to what I decided ! A few minor tweaks here and there and it will be perfect ! I managed to stay within my 2649 calories per day and didn't miss any training I will weigh myself Monday morning to see if the weeks plan worked !!!!! If no weight loss then I will trim some things to make perfect it but I know I'm close !I sure feel good.
We had a great spin today....rough count about 40 people ! Very busy !!!! Lots of DRTC members there showing there stuff !!! With all this hard training we are sure to see some great finishes from the club members !!
Today was one of the worst days in a while for my ankle pain and it's getting more wierd every day. One second it hurts and I can't put any weight on it the next minute I can run ten km..
It's real sore after I've been off it for ten or so minutes then get up and walk around, after a couple mins of limping around the pain goes away. I get my new orthotics in another couple weeks and I have an appointment with the doctors again to see what else he has on his mind but until then keep at it gently training with no running.

First swim class of 2012

Good evening !!!
Super excited the first swim class of the year !!!!!
Get to see all my tri buddies since the new years party !!!! I had a nice treat this morning at the gym!!! I walked up the stairs and coach Paul was there training another athlete so I had to be on my toes lol!!!!!proper form ! Follow my plan !!!! I didn't talk to him right away because they were at work just as I was ,,,so in went the head phones and away I went.
I had a super workout went threw my whole plan then down to the change room were I ran into coach Paul and was able to say good morning !! He told me about the awesome bike class I missed last night and told me how hard all my super athlete friends worked!! I like to hear that!!!
He said there was a new energy and excitement in bike class with the new season underway......and just as he was about to go into the pool with the other athlete he did a friendly check "so I'll see you on Saturday right"? Anyone that knows Paul can always see the look on his face !! Very serious yet friendly !!!! So yes I will be at bike class on Saturday.
Had another great day with my meal plan it is getting much easier and I can't even explain how great I feel!! I do have a challenge tommorow night though a good friend of the familys home burnt down and they lost everything so his family is having a bennifit dance and all my friends will be there and the beers will be cold and the food will be out !!!! So there's a pretty good chance I won't be staying long !! I have attached a value to this season like coach Paul said and it's pretty valuable

Spinning alone

Good evening !!!
Had to miss spin class today !! The Christmas crunch has left the wallet closed for another month !!!! As well as triathlon being great for your health it's not so great on the pocket book ! I'm glad I don't smoke or drink like a fish anymore ! I couldn't afford it !!!!!!!!
With limited funds this month I've decided to only do swimming classes on thursday night my reason is swimming is the most technical of the three sports (I think)
I'm average on the bike so I know I can handle the 90 km of the 70.3 ironman and the run will just be a run but the swim I'm sure swimming will be my most challenging part !!! At coach Paul's swim class we get a good work out and learn as we go that's what I need to become a better swimmer.
My day was another successful day did my own spin all alone just put the head phones on and went to work, I did notice one thing with my new diet of 2749 calories I ran out of gas about the 1 hour and 20 min mark of my spin so definatly I will have a gel or bar half way threw on Saturday morning since its a two hour ride!!! I am writing every thing down this year to change and compare things as I go to make it a successful season !!
Better hit the sack 430 am comes early

Very happy with today

Good evening

What a exciting day had a great work out ,,,an hour of cardio and a 35 miniute swim !!!! I was really impressed with myself I kept my heart rate at 145 bpm for the full hour I was really cookin ! I haven't been able to do that before !!!
I didn't count my laps in the pool today and that made a huge difference !I just swam .. I usually think more about not losing count of my Laps than concentrating on my swiming form....
I also had great success with my meal plan today I stuck right at my 2749 calories for the day I will weigh myself in the morning and hopefully start loosing from there...my 220 lbs goal is off in the distance but I can just see it....
I went to the foot doctor today and was fitted with plaster casts for my orthotics he did a real good job !!! I hope it works !! He also suggested some shoes called the saucony Grid Stabil they looked like tanks ,,,even stronger than my brooks beasts !! 3 weeks for delivery can't wait to give them a try .....I told him about my running shoe quest and my sore feet and he said "well people that have pain usually quit running" and I told him that wasn't an option!!!!!
He also said that he never real comes across people that are 270 lbs that run!! I said I won't be there for long...

First day of 2012 training tomorrow

Good evening !!!
Tomorrow morning brings the first day of training !! Am I ready ? Well yes and no,,, I have 15 mins left to be asleep like planned so maybe half hour late but none the less close!! I have my full day planned my meals and calories counted sitting right at my 2746 calories ,,,,my salt is a little high but should be ok for all the sweating I'm going to do ..............
Lunch is packed gym bag packed alarm set ready to begin my new life !!!!
I had a tough day today still feeling the ill effects of new years eve !! I should have known better !!!! It was a blast though !! Today has been wierd for me I've had a few spells of blurry vision then it goes away kind of feels like a film over my eyes I'm going to the doctors this week for my drivers medical so I will find out then !!
Tommorow morning I have an hour of cardio and a half hour fast swim ,,,then hot tub then work!
Coach Paul sent my January work out plan to me on new years eve it was a little lighter than I thought but I will enjoy it! I'm guessing it starts at this pace and grows since I'm still 38 weeks away from my A race still lots of time to turn it up !!! I am going to work real hard to get and keep my heart rate up were he wants it and not miss any workouts !!! I'm goin to pay close attention to detail when I'm swimming to try to make my stroke more efficient.
Tommorow I go to clarinton foot clinic to get fitted for my new orthotics and start running again hopefully by February !! I can't wait,,,

Happy new year!!

Hope everyone had a great new years eve !!! I had the most amazing time with some great friends! Wouldn't trade that for the world!!! I went out not planning to get sideways but some of my best times ive had started with a non planned trip sideways !!!!nothing like I used to do at all but definitely fun !
So now the new years resolutions begin! Some will work ! Some will not ! I think the key to it is have a life resolution not just a new years ....start planning small and add as you go and then go big for others but keep your plans realistic ! PLAN PLAN PLAN is the key to success ORGANIZE is also another key thing for some people ! If your quitting smoking or quitting drinking I believe GO BIG ......when I made the choice in my life to quit drinking and quit smoking I did it !!! Cold turkey with little effects on my life ,,,,after over a year I let myself have a couple drinks at a couple special functions in the off season of triathlon and I believe if I can control myself and not go back to that same lifestyle it's ok to get a little sideways a couple times a year !!but as of now time to get serious and train for my ironman 70.3 .........251 days till muskoka 70.3!!!!!!!
As for my resolutions I plan to succeed I have various resolutions I plan on carrying out for the rest of my life!!! I plan on reaching my goal weight of 230 by June 15th my first triathlon of the year in Guelph !!!! That's a measly 2 lbs per week and if I achieve a three pound a week loss I will reach it much faster ! With my last full week of snow I was unable to achieve my goal of being ready to start my plan on January third so over the next 4 days I will give it my all to achieve my plan and start to focus at the start of next week!
Another resolution is to delete all negativity and drama from my life ! That's in public ,the work place , my entire life I want to be free of negativity and drama ! No more brining stress home ,, and move forward!!! I will be speaking my mind no more holding back ! Should be interesting !!!!
And one other thing I'm going to change is sleep and hydration,,, so far its working I slept till noon today it was great!!!
So I really wish everyone a great and happy and successful new year !!!
