Skip a work-out

Today I had to skip a workout because I'm just too tired ! I feel it's better to take a break than have a crappy workout !
I get real upset when I have a bad workout !
I also have some honking big blisters on my feet but that happens !!!
I have my remicade infusion tomorrow I hope it goes well, I usually feel crappy after that!
Off to bed have to train early tomorrow before the infusion !

Welcome back

I have decided to post again, why did I stop? I felt there was enough people on the planet blogging about there ironman journey, but I really lost touch with why I was doing it ..... for me ! myself --- it kept my motivation up and helped keep me on track. So here we go again the next break I will take is after my ironman in 2014.
Things are progressing well for my Syracuse 70.3 Ironman in 6 weeks my body is holding up, I have all good equipment, all the support in the world, I belong to an amazing club and my arthritis is 88% under control.
My races this summer are the Syracuse 70.3 ironman, 100km granfondo Ottawa my wife myself and my friend Liz are going to volunteer at this summers full Ironman Mont Tremblant so we can sign up for next years events.
To finish up my summer I'm going to try Ironman muskoka 70.3 again just to try for a better time that 8:10 minutes, although its just a fun race I'd like to do well!
Our club is growing with leaps and bounds with new routes and swim locations things are looking up although its lots of work it's very rewarding up carry on such a great club!

Good bye snow

Finally snow is gone ! 7 more days and the Oshawa contract is over ! By April 7 all the snow contracts will be over !
Had a great ride tonight, I was going to do 1.5 hours on the bike but with the lack of sleep this week I wanted to be careful.

I'm going to hopefully get back on track now with Syracuse only 13 short weeks away I have a lot of work to do ! I'm going to go real hard for a month with cardio in the morning and my triathlon training in the evening and my bricks are going to start in April.

My winter training has been spotty at best with all the snow and work it's been difficult ! Last weekend I finished my lifeguard training and now I'm a certified lifeguard ! A great edition to my already impressive turn around in life ! Yes I just patted myself on the back lol !

I don't know where to begin

I guess I'll begin by saying "wow what a ride"
I haven't posted in such a long time there is no way I can make that up ! The winter this far has been brutal for me, running the snow camps is a difficult job but with a good team it seems to work out fine, just many hours away from home and days without sleep!

Syracuse 70.3 is 13 and a bit weeks away which is in the back of my mind and although I'm not where is like to be I'm still in a good position to finish without having a complete meltdown on race day !

Once again team Drinkle has played an important role in keeping my big dreams rolling forward ! They have already spent lots of energy keeping me on track and I love them to the moon for that !

I've been away from my blog for so long because I did some google searches and found thousands of blogs about people doing the same thing, lots of great stories of people beating the odds and losing lots of weight and becoming ironman athletes and I felt like I was just another big guy trying to loose weight ! But my blog (as I found out) is like my training journal that I use to keep track of things and plan my life so I think it's imperative that I keep up on it !

I have a very intense race schedule this summer leading into a very important winter ! The beginning of my ironman training starts now ! This summer I'm registering for Ironman Mont Tremblant !
I'm very excited and eager to get this all set up !

Over the next few days I will try and update on my crazy life, it's been different!

Welcome back

I have been quiet for quite some time for many reasons, but the biggest problem is still the same as last season ! TIME
Not enough of it !!!!!!! Lots has changed since last season and I'm excited to take on my upcoming challenges !
I have 16 weeks 8 days left until my Syracuse 70.3 ! I'm not as far ahead as I planned to be in my training but let's just say I'm not a rookie, I have a plan and have learned to recognize things that are going on (good and bad) and feel really awesome about this season.
I have a full race schedule starting in June with a swim race of 2 km, followed by the Syracuse 70.3 followed closely by Gravenhurst Olympic with a friend, then the granfondo bike race ( should be interesting) then the muskoka 70.3.
A busy full schedule for sure!
Tomorrow I will explain my extended absence !
Have a great day
